It is a whole new ballgame with a toddler and a newborn – you just went from parading around town with your 18 month old, to having a new baby! You forgot that babies eat and sleep a whole lot, your previous schedule is totally out the door and if you are like me, while you are embracing the wild, crazy, and special experience you are also asking yourself – will there be a new normal for our family again?!
Yes, there will – even for the organized, schedule freaks like us. Sample Schedule for 2 Under 2
Okay so I don’t know how, but we somehow figured out a little schedule that made sense for both kids when my baby (C) was around 2.5 months old and my toddler (A) was 22 months old. This obviously changed over time (A’s nap got later, C eventually had 2 naps, etc.) but this is what worked for us. I encouraged a 4 hour schedule for C but he took to it really well – your schedule might not look like mine so feel free to take the parts you like and ignore the parts you don’t 🙂
(A’s timing was pretty consistent, C’s varied 30 minutes but sometimes more. Here is what our typical day with 2 Under 2 looked like! Don’t forget to pin the graphic to your Pinterest board for easy reference!)
